Counselling is an opportunity to talk things through in a safe, confidential environment. I don’t give advice or tell you what to do; I’ll help you explore why you’re feeling stuck, confused or emotionally overwhelmed, and we’ll work together to improve your sense of wellbeing.
Sometimes a life event, a crisis, can knock us temporarily off our feet. At such times it may be helpful to have the support of someone like myself until one’s equilibrium is sufficiently restored. In these cases, a few sessions can be enough to help us feel we’re back on track.
Longer term therapy may be more appropriate for deeper-rooted issues; these kinds of problems may take longer to resolve, but this kind of work can lead to more profound and permanent change.
