How will I know if you’re the right supervisor for me?
I offer an introductory meeting, at no charge and with no obligation. When we meet I’d like to hear about your work and clients, and what you’d like from supervision. You can ask questions you may have and I can describe how I like to work. I understand the importance of finding the right person, and you will likely be meeting with a number of potential supervisors; you’re welcome to go away and take the time you need to make any decision.
What’s your training and experience?
I trained initially as a person-centred counsellor, and now work integratively. I have trained in person-centred supervision, and in advanced and group supervision. I am a senior accredited member of BACP.
Who do you supervise?
I have experience of supervising individuals and groups, and am currently working with both trainee and qualified counsellors. I am happy to work with counsellors working in most settings and from different orientations.
What will our sessions be like?
I hope that you will feel supported, nourished and encouraged by the relationship we have. Your sessions will be a regular time and space to reflect on your work and its setting, your clients, and your relationships with your clients.
I’ll help you identify and think about issues that might arise, such as:
- doubting your competence or usefulness
- feeling confused
- personal material coming to the surface
- feeling over-involved or not wanting to be involved
- ethical issues
How much does a session cost?
An hour’s supervision is £50.
